Should Kids Be Able to Graduate After 10th Grade?

Just stumbled onto this thread over at Lucianne.com. The comments are quite interesting.

Two of my favorites:

A BA in sociology (Where you study poor people for four years then become one.)

Senior year is a waste of time. Like Newt Gingrich pointed out, it’s just a government subsidized social dating program.

What do you think?

  1. Wow, there are a lot of good points looking at both sides, but I think that each person is different, so some may benefit from graduating early and some may need that extra year or two. Kinda one of the reasons we homeschool, so we don’t have to through them all in the same box with the same label. We can custom fit each kid with what they need. 🙂

  2. Pam, I’ve seen how different each child can be in my own family. We are so fortunate to have flexibility as homeschoolers! But the public schools need to offer more choices to kids who are stagnating in the second half of high school.

Maya, we don’t want to push them, but we don’t want to hold them back either.

    Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
