Daughter just joined the GS this year. I know that they technically took God out of their organization, but last night was Baby Gurl's award ceremony and we prayed (as a group, to God) before and after the program. (Also, I guess it's important to point out that we also had prayer at my 5th grade son's promotion ceremony - in public school).

It's been a really good experience for my girl. In fact it only took a couple of meetings before she was asking me to let her go in by herself (she's 7 and shy). It's done huge things for her self esteem. I'm happy with our local chapter.

I was a co-leader for my oldest. We enjoyed it. But I have found w/my 2nd dd it is so liberated. Trying to hard to compete w/the boyscouts. And snobby. So she didn't like it.

I was in Girl Guides (Canadian Girl Scouts) when I was a little girl. I did not like it. Too much camping. :-)

My sister LOVED it and went all the way through it!
