Happy Belated New Year!

Yes, I know what day it is, it’s the 10th. But despite all my best efforts to avoid rampant illness over the holiday season, it crept up on me last week and knocked me down with five days of fever. Ugh.

Now I’m feeling better, ready to tackle another year. There are some good things coming this year, and I’m excited.  I will share those things when I can. In the meantime, let’s enjoy some good news. I’ll bet you can’t read this story of what happened shortly before Christmas when the staff of a Dallas middle school asked for men to volunteer to be dads for some boys who don’t have dads in their lives at a “Breakfast with Dads” event….and not cry.  God bless every single one of those men as well as all of those boys.

Smile!

So many depressing things in the news these days. But every so often, if we’re paying attention, we find something good. Take this story, for instance. There’s no way you can read it and look at the many photos with it and not feel your heart soar. Made my day!

Then there’s this adorable six-minute video that’s so cleverly made:

Yep, made me smile too 🙂

Once in a While, Some Good News is Reported

My blood pressure has surely gone up lately from reading about all the ridiculous things going on in our government. My husband even threatened to take away the Internet because I was getting so irritable reading about how our taxes are going up bailing out all sorts of stupid behavior while our freedoms are being eroded.

But then I read this story, about the smart trick a caring fireman used to rescue a frightened autistic boy who escaped his first day of school by climbing out of a third-story window and refusing to come in off the ledge. Best thing I’ve read in weeks! And the photo of the boy and his rescuer is awesome.
